About us

The Cast Off 8's is a Western Style Square Dance club based in Rutland, VT. The club started in 1978 and currently has about 55 active members. The club meets Wednesday nights at the Lothrop School Gym in Pittsford, VT, from 6:30 to 9:00 pm.  We have a new dancers program between 6:30 and 8:00 with Mainstream and Plus tips woven in. We also dance MS, Plus and Advanced after class from 8 - 9 pm. Our club caller is Peter Tobin from Orwell, VT. We have seven to eight club dances during the year, featuring local and regional callers. Many of the club members have been dancing for two decades. Others are new dancers and still learning! There are plenty of dancers available that dance both parts to help new and visiting dancers!
